So this is my first visit to the Bertram Greenport rendezvous. I'm late to commit but I've made a dock reservation for Friday night; is there anybody else that I need contact?

Boat name is Chauncey 1972 31' Bertram.

Does anybody know if there are any more docks available for Friday night only? I can't attend the both nights but thinking of coming for Friday night and leaving Sat afternoon. Who should I call?

My set up is 5" exhaust pipe with inline Vernatone mufflers with a 11" x 30" body. I have a geni so shutting down is a good option as long as those Cummins don't ingest seawater while drifting or anchored. As I said before that I've never tempted to shut them down while offshore but it's good to hea...

Randall, so where did you get those rubber stoppers from? I have 5" exhaust ports and i like your idea and it's simple. I guess it's like a rubber cork...your direction as to where to buy is appreciated. thanks,

I'm just thinking that while drifting and the tendancy of the boat rocking and rolling is it risky to shut down and then risk gulping into the engine sea water? I've been concerned about this and have never taken the chance of shutting down while drifting in open ocean. Where did you get those rubbe...

1972 31 Bertram; 330 Cummins

When drifting in ocean for shark, tuna, tiles how many of you keep motors running versus shutting them down. My concern is getting saltwater backed up and over the risers and into the cylinders. I don't have surge tubes and I'm concerned about getting hydro-lock so for many years I keep them running...

Concerning the Komacell; where did you order this from and what thickness are you using? Looks like a good alternative but wondering about the cost and where to buy it. Any help will be appreciated.

Cockpit Panels; Replacements

I'm considereing replacing the panels inside the cockpit and would like to get opinions on the best material to use that will hold up weather and the abuse? Are there fiberglass sheets with one side gelcoated that can bought and then cut to fit and painted? Or is there another way to get a durable p...

Apparently I waited too long...the boat is high and dry so I'll get the newer PSS and install this week on both shafts. Thanks for reminding me about another scheduled maintenance item that I forgot about and caused me a lost fishing weekend. Well at least I can freshen up the bottom and scrape the ...

Dripless Shaft Logs

I have 330 hp cummins in my 31 with dripless shaft logs except this Saturday the port side bellow ruptured and I experienced a lot of water in-flow. Not good ... but got it under control thanks to dact tape and rupper wrap. Anyway, my question is how often do you need to replace the rubber bellow or...
