Marlins wahoo
Major, capt Pats reveles, #14 greylite mineral glass, followed ths capt/s smart sheet to install. capt Bob the 1/2 tower has a carbonfiber top, molded in radar pod, recessed teaser reels, ez2cy enclosure with no seams till aftcorners ,aircondtioned enclosed. fb 28' rupp riggers with rupp hydrorigger control and a molded in electronic box housing 2 furuno 12.5 vx2 displays simrad pilot, the install starts Monday. Scot theone piece teak transom came out of one pc of 2 1/2" teak resawed edgematched glued on the bench and set on a 1/2" coosa epoxied to the lower transom and there is not on one fastner involved, hense no wood below the waterline{I hope} The handrails are my version of the rybovich handrail, the F/B seat was made by Holmesy in Jupiter and holds 12 plano boxes accessed from standing on the motor boxes, the front compartments hold the eperb and a bottle of yag for big fish celebrations. The motor boxes are from capt alex and longer, wider, higher and require considerable fg adjustments to make them fit thanks for all your kind comments, I'm older than capt Pat but when I grow up I want to be as good as him, tall order

Beautiful work with the wood transom. I have struggled with the look of some of the wood on my boats. Sure is nice when it comes out just right!

now now sim those qsb put out 1200 lbs. of torque enought to put your boat and wahoo on plane at the same time.however i am old and retired with a open mind so i assumed he will put a rub rail piece on the trailing edge of the trim tab and raise the tab 11/2" above the bottom and use the trim tabs as a bumper when backing into a slip with a seawall . got to protect that transom!!! with a 355 hp qsp prop correctly with racors in the hole and abundant air he would be in a heep a big trouble above 33 knots with those dumb fu-k trim tabs going into a turn , like a death threat waiting to happen. unless he changes the shaft angle with the built in 12 degree shaft at 32 knots that boat is going to rudder big time he needs to remove make rotating shaft out of front of trim tab insert thru hull 5' from front with a joy stick and electric motor to lower tab and keep the damm bow out of the water!!!the tabs will work directly against him above 32knots and probally kill him on a tight turn at 35 knots.

Re: looks great nice job
Even just a touch of teak makes for a beautiful accent to all the fiberglass.
It also requires a bit more maintainance to keep it looking that way.
She looks magnificant.

Many posts on this topic. Many say no, and many say, better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them. I fall into the second catagory.. Both of my boats have trim tabs.john wrote:does a 31 need trim tabs john
