Here we go again. More corn for your tank.

Post by Skipper Dick »

It seems that this administration is totally deaf. They won't listen to anyone at all. So here we go again.

"The Environmental Protection Agency is expected to approve higher concentrations of ethanol for newer vehicles, raising the maximum blend of the corn-based fuel with gasoline from 10 percent to 15 percent.
The EPA is expected to say as soon as Wednesday that cars manufactured since 2007 are able to handle the higher ethanol content, according to people with knowledge of the announcement. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the decision.

The ethanol industry has maintained that there is sufficient evidence to show that a 15 percent ethanol blend in motor fuel will not harm engine performance. But the auto industry, environmentalists and a broad coalition of other groups have argued against an increase and called for more testing.

Opponents argue that the increase in production of corn and its diversion for ethanol making animal feed more expensive, raising prices at the grocery store and tearing up the land. Manufacturers of smaller engines—used in everything from lawn mowers to boats—also oppose increasing the use of the corn-based fuel, saying those engines are not designed for the higher concentrations. Our CNWAIC is totally out of touch with the American public.....but after all, he's a trained "community organizer", likes to holler real loud and raise rabble. Oh yeah, the price of meat is going thru the roof...guess why?

But he could not have done most of the damage he has wrought without the willing co-conspirators in Congress, the socialist democrats. Vote 'em out for good, then he's next in two years.

Disgusting, just plain disgusting.

Not only am I a redheaded stepchild for owning a B28 and being on this great forum, I am also one because I farm crops that aren't subsidized and insured from loss by your tax dollars. The corn lobby makes me sick. I believe we are safe in the short term because vendors have to have a separate inground tank to distribute this fuel and the EPA has not approved it's use for vehicles made before 2007. But give this government some time and they will figure out how to cram it down our throats, probably through "tax incentives" that will not allow a store owner to compete with their neighbor who offers this crap fuel. I wouldn't even put it past them to have a cash for clunkers program for all these ancient 2006 and older model cars. As corn prices are rising so are fertilizer and other inputs to all growers. Basically, this one additional stupid decision will raise the cost of thousands of items in your local grocery. Not to mention the effect on ye ol' Bertram. Oh yeah, that's the third thing that makes me a redheaded stepchild.. gas powered sportfisher.

Sorry Skipper Dick, looks like they are going to bypass the 2007 hurdle which you already addressed above in your post. My blood pressure had already shot up before I got to that part. So we are going to be screwed sooner than I thought.

It's time to go pour a bourbon, What corn was intended to be used for.

This is all part of the global warming scam. It is nothing more than a way for government to implement more control upon the masses and rake in billions with increased costs and taxation in the name of a greener planet.
