what are the current thoughts on fuel lines to be combaitable with ethanol-i replace my lines back in 1988 or 1989--i guessing will need to do it again.

Craig- The timing of your last hose changes is close based on what I have heard. Your present fuel lines from fill lines to your tanks and from the tanks to your engines might be OK. "Later model" engines hoses are supposed to be able to handle Ethanol without deteriorating. Obviously, 60's and 70's vintage lines are at risk. Late 80's is close. If it's easy, check the interior of the hoses with a Q-tip. If you get any sort of black or gummy residue, change them. Living on LI, your lines have been exposed to Ethanol for quite a while. Walter

Replacing them would be cheap insurance as they are close to 20 years old, even without the ethanol problem.
