Where is Bluebeard?

Post by Harry Woods »

I met a guy today who is considering a B31 and is fishing the Star Island bass event at Montauk this weekend. I mentioned Bluebeard and he wants to do a walk-around while he is there. Is the boat in the water behind Liar's Saloon or on the hard at Darenbergs?

I believe that it isn't for sale any more, but I could be mistaken. Perhaps Randall will chime in...

Bob,
They were going to get a look at the boat before the captains meeting yesterday. I will put them in touch with you directly if they have interest in the boat.

Where is Bluebeard Too? One of the nicest 20' Bahias I have seen. Walter sent me pictures once when I expressed interest but it was out of my range. Hope it makes it to a nice home! Some lucky dog.

Bob and Randall,
My guy took a pass on Bluebeard. Wanted something newer.

Mark S,
My son bought Bluebeard II before Walter got sick. It is an original Bahia Mar that Walter had a complete engine, drive, tank and transom done by Easthampton Marine before he sold it.

Thanks Mark. Walter spoke highly of you. He mentioned that he sent some 165 parts for your boat from the old engine. His gift was that he made time for everyone.

Harry,
The teak flooring in the sole of Bluebeard was a gift from me. Walter did send me some 165 parts in kind and we were friends that never met of the first order. I always looked forward to reading him here and on the b25 board for pearls of wisdom. When Mara got sick, much like many on this board, Walter scoured for information and e-mailed me weekly. Like uncle Vic, I missed an opportunity to shake a quality hand. I will regret that the rest of my days.
Thanks for the kind words Harry. :)

I took a look at BlueBeard over the weekend.
One of the funny things about this websight ..... there are some awfully big hearts in this group of old pirates .... and that's a good thing !!

The mean team leader is not a softie. I have it on good authority he once twisted the head off a baby duck because it looked at him the wrong way.

As of Saturday 11/9 ... Bluebeard was sitting in Montauk Marine Basin (Darenberghs) with canvas in place and botton clean.
Cockpit was not covered at the time.
