Gert remains my hero.

Did you just spruce up/redo an existing electric whale boat, or build her from scratch?
I don't know what the world may want,
But a good stiff drink it surely dont,
Think I'll go and fix myself...a tall one.

Gert,
You should step it up a notch on the next 3.1 build and stick a Cummins in it. I mean, nothing too radical, keep it around 300 hp or so.

All kidding aside that is pretty cool. Wish I had the talent to do something like that.

I'm speechless! ......by the age I think your kids have, I consider that they do not have the slightest idea that they have one of the coolest dads on earth. You have to teach them your trade: Flawless Craftmanship!

Thanks for the complments gents,

What I did , I build A one time mold out of multiplex with all the structure on the outside , painted it and waxed it and gelcoated it an fiberglassed it ,..........then I took out BILLY BOB , the biggest hammer I could find with a 3 foot shank and the product came out..same for the deck.
It is really a time consuming way to build , what can I say everything for those happy snouts...:)
If I wanted to make a mould of it it would take a 3 piece hull mould , one for the deck and one for the steering collum and engine box.... it would market wise not a good investment .
But for my 3 little sailors the best there is !!!:) our oldsest one 9 years old skilled enough to start and undock and dock my 31 ... can you emagine the looks of the people that dad is doing the lines and fenders and the little rascal is heading out...
I was raised the same way , and I still remember the first day that dad was confident enough ( after days sitting on his lap learning ) to let me do it by myself.
you probaly think he can't , believe me he can !
love it !!

Gert

Gert,
Learned the same way, aboard my grandfather's 38' Wheeler. His favorite trick was rolling up to the gas dock with him sitting in a chair in the cockpit and me at the helm. I was so small it was hard to see me, or for me to see. He loved it and it scared the crap out of onlookers.
Best way to learn. Teach 'em right and young.
