Fiberglass sheeting question for Cranston

Post by DanielM »

Guys,
I’ve got a question John Cranston wanted me to post. (He’s down here at the bay house & without a computer) Does anyone know of a source for sheet fiberglass? John is looking at putting a fiberglass sheet on top of the standing area of his tuna tower. The standing area frame is about 2” thick aluminum tubing and he is planning on putting a ¼” skin on top and a 1/8” or ¼” skin underneath to close it in. The standing area is about 5’7” front to back and 6’5” side to side. He is going to anti-skid the area so surface prep doesn’t matter, could be gel coated but doesn’t need to be. Does that sound like something that may be available in either ¼” or 1/8” sheets? He would like do the whole area in one piece if possible. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

DanielM
