Orca (ex Island Girl)

As some of you may remember I took on the stewardship of Tommy Drake's Island Girl last year. She's been renamed Orca and is lying in Monaco. I took these pics on a recent trip to Corsica and I thought I would share them with you. During the winter she was painted with Awlgrip and many external fittings were re-chromed. For those familiar with Island Girl you'll see that her waterline colours remain the same.

Enjoy!

Thanks guys. It's a pretty tall order keeping her in the same shape the Drake's did but so far so good and loving every minute of it!!!

At the rate our CNIC is running this side in the ground, I see reverse migration on the horizon.......

James, you are doing all the Faithful proud.

Although we miss her, my brother and I agree that Island Girl could not have gone to a better steward. I agree with Mike.....we're living on the wrong side of the ocean! Thanks for staying in touch, James, and thanks for taking such good care of Orca. All of the hard work put into her by Patrick and Bruce continues to pay off all these years later, because there is no substitute for quality craftsmenship. I'll look you up if I ever make it to the high rent neighborhood of Monte Carlo!

Vic .... "CNIC" ???
I take it you are referring to "Commander Navy Installations Command" .... at least I hope that's what you are talking about.

Still love that look of the original windows and frames.
Old school all the way.

Waters always that color when you don't have mud, oil or sewage for a bottom.

I've been thinking about and I remember to see at least three B31 in Portofino, if you ever take her there.

Orca just made it to my desktop's wallpaper! Specifically, the last one. I noticed fishing tackle inside the boat.....what type of fish you look for in the Mediterranean Sea?

Thanks for sharing and best of luck with her.
