Velvet drive

Post by wgiarratana »

Just replaced the o-ring that was leaking by the shift cables and now when I check the trans fluid after running then shutting down at the dock when I pull the dipstick it’s releasing pressure where the dipstick just about pops out in my hand any idea what direction I need to go? Has anyone had to replace the control valve? Any input appreciated thanks Bill

From what I recall the trans has a breather vent on top, just across from the dipstick/fill side. May be blocked, clogged or was changed by someone to a plug.

Have you tried removing the vent prior to pulling the dipstick? If no pressure is released, I'd check to see if the vent passage is clear. Check as in probe with a wire...something like a HD shark leader. Might be some debris clogging the passageway.

Kinked lines...but I'm stretching here.
