The trip could not have been won by a better recipient! The Williams family has been hosting at their marina and providing the Friday evening pig-picking (that’s a barbecue for you Yankees) at the N.C. Bertram Rendezvous for around 15 years now, and they do so out of the goodness of their hearts. Try as we have, they simply will not allow us to reimburse them for the costs. I offered to carry Joel’s bags on the trip to Tropic Star, but his brother, Owen, said he had that job covered. The Williams family are the stewards of Sawdust, a B-31 that their late father, John C., picked up new at the Miami plant in the mid-70s and ran back to NC. They also are the stewards of Seasaw, a 20’ Moppie. Congratulations Joel!
