Macris Underwater Light purchase

Post by Dug »

Would anyone like to buy underwater lights that don't already have them? I have been given permission to do a group buy if anyone is interested. These are state of the art, LED lights, and we can get a pretty good price.

Please take a look at http://www.macrisindustries.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and let me know if you like what you see, as well as if you are interested.

I would like to see this happen fairly quickly as Alchemy's lights will be bought soon and I would like to couple all together. Harrison Macris is a friend of mine, hence the deal.

PM me if you are interested. We need to move on this pretty fast.

Thanks,

Dug

Today, Harrison set up a light and shot it twice with a 12 gage from 30 feet away. Worked fine. I'm impressed. Seriously.

Shot it with a 12 Gauge? That is certainly not a normal testing parameter. Maybe we should be wearing these instead of installing them on our boats.

LOL Kevin!!! Right on! Yeah, he is trying to demonstrate how durable they are. Truth is he bends the crap out of them too. I think he is subjecting them to extreme's not trying to replicate real world conditions. In fact, showing they exceed real world conditions. I hope.

Either way, its a good sign that they will be durable lights!

Dug,
How large of a hole do your need to drill in the transom for the 6" also is there any big black boxes that need to be installed along with the lights themselves. I surveyed a 31 that had huge black connector boxes that took up more room than necessary. Those units are reasonably priced I will let you know very soon.

Hi Pete,
Hole size is between 11/32 and 3/8, enough to provide clearance for the 5/16 inch wire gland and get a little bit of 5200 in there as well. There are no internal power supplies so long as you run the lights on your 12 dc system. For 110VAC applications such as docks, etc. they sell transformers that mount internally, but the assumption is that all of our boats have rugged 12v systems that will support the lights. Plus who wants to run the genset just to power your UW lights. ;)

Dug,
Okay, thanks for the info on hole sizes, I think it was Jerry Santiago's Zero Gravity that had the internal transformers for the underwater lighting.
I will be in contact.

Pete, and all, one of the really nice things about these lights is that they are essentially plug and play. In otherwords, wire them to your power and off you go. No mounting of external boxes. Unless you want to run off 110. But that would likely be land based applications.

I would like to try to get an order together as soon as possible. The season to sell these is fast approaching due to boat show season bearing down at full bore, and a new deal with West Marine to distribute for Macris. He is going to be very busy. Which is awesome of course. But lets get our order in before the wave comes, so we can be assured of prompt delivery.

If we could make up minds by the end of this week it would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Dug
