I took the carb off, looked clean and to be working fine to me, with my lack of experience that doesn't hold much water. Also popped the cover on the throttle and adjusted the set screw so that it doesn't drop below 800 and stall out. It still seemed to be running rough and a bit of a slick coming from the exhaust.

The mechanic went down and said the fuel pump we replaced recently is faulty and he is going to swap it out for a new one.

Another goofy question.

My wife and 2year old son prefer the cabin while the boat is underway. Of course that may change next week. But in any case I can't talk to them from the bridge while they're in the cabin underway. Was thinking of a couple of walkie talkies? Also have a hand held for my flats boat I could bring aboard. Not sure which channel to use if I did that?

I am sure you guys have a best practice for me.

Probably a pair of FSR handhelds would be best. You don't need VHF to transmit 8 feet......

Peter, every area has it's channel favorites but channel 5 is a good one to use, as not many people use it, probably. Put both units on low power to talk that close or they'll squeal.
I'm not sure but indecision may or may not be my problem.

You'll want that unit to work both ways. Most Icom and Standsrd Horizon VHF's allow you to plug in another smaller VHF that matches it. I snaked the cable down below and plugged it in. Acts as an intercom AND allows me to have a lower unit to grab when someone calls me while drifting. Don't have to jump up to the bridge.

Maybe your mistaken. I have a new fuel tank. Or did I miss something?

Sorry, I was confused. I thought you still had the old tank.

Good news was that the tank was replaced and the port motor rebuilt. The bad news they only put in 185 gallons and the star oars motor wasn't rebuilt.

Great day on the water today!
