How much snow did everyone get?

Post by Rawleigh »

Here in the Northern Neck of Virginia they called for 4 to 8 inches and we got 12. It just stopped snowing. I guess I will spend tomorrow on the tractor plowing snow!

6"+ forecast here in Raleigh, NC; ended up with 1-2" of sleet/snow mixture. The system shifted north and dumped on you, Rayleigh.

New Jersey got mixed amounts. The southern end more than the northern. I am in Hillsdale (Bergen County) maybe 3 inches, but at my house in Forked River, according to my sister, it is close to 12 inches.

Here in Wilmington, NC, we were at the bottom edge of the coastal snow/sleet according to the model. We had some rain mostly last night, no snow at all, and the rain stopped about noon. The temp is about 24F now (midnight) and supposed to get down into the high teens later tonight Once again we were lucky weatherwise..

Great view, looks pretty.

Nav, no offense but in Yannis shot I would not expect to see any special effects, in yours there should have some bathing suit modeling going on.

Having said that, since we're spoiled by really warm weather you won't see many locals at the beach this time of the year... For us it's too chilly... What you WILL see is tourists (north west Europe, Russia etc) for whom our winter equals their summer...

My home away from home doesn't see much snow either... FL snowman:

We got too much snow; but then again as the years go past, any snow has become too much snow.

What do you think that I'm a mind reader?!... I would guess she wouldn't (unless she has eyes in the rear of her head)... I've seen it happen... In Miami and elsewhere... A photographer, a bunch of models and some assistants show up on a beach for a shoot and every dog in 5 mile radius finds a reason to show up...

First you complain there's no modeling in the picture... When you get a modeling picture you complain about perverts... Are you a member of the tribe?!... You sure complain like one!... <rotflmao>

Not sure... If the "sticks" on the left of the model's face are sail masts then this picture was taken somewhere south of the Tel Aviv Marina but north of old Jaffa...

A picture is worth a thousand words...here's 2 to think about.
Not saying either is right or wrong, but I believe there should be personal freedom to choose.
Just a different perspective on something worth fighting for...

This might have been best to post in political forum...but pic got me thinking and link was here.

And in Israel the personal freedom to choose exists!... You'll see hot young women in microkinis who're wearing a few strings holding 3 cloth triangles (whose total area wouldn't cover my junk) right next to unknowns in full burqini setups... Yep, the same burqini that's LEGALLY prohibited in certain European countries is perfectly legal in Israel...

I only hope it's the gold bikini that got the "reaction" and not the one following that one... But then again, you like old weird boats... <grin>

Your comment about modeling reminds me of when in my Youth, I was in a staff meeting. The meeting room was on the first floor of One Madison Ave in NY. That is the corner of 23rd and Madison. The windows had a tint on them so that in the day no one could see in but at night everyone could see in but you could not see out.

The VP was in the middle of a presentation when he realized no one was paying attention to him but a couple of the woman. He then looked out the window and there was a model in a short dress, one leg up on the window sill and Photogs taking Pics for a photo shoot. By the way she was standing so everyone sitting at the conference table except the VP had a perfect view.

It was priceless at the time.

By the way, not complaining, just laughing thinking one of those guys is you.

Hey Steve

You know none of us are a day at the Beach anymore. She could have no neck and I would not have noticed.

I think Steve has been playing with boats too long.

I bet if if she walked up to him and said hi we would have to pick him up off the ground.

True story ......
Many years ago in Sag Harbor, a very gorgeous dark hulled, varnished cabin side down east (I think Jarvis Newman) boat appeared at the dock.
Boat was stunning !!
An attractive blond stood near it on the dock, holding her baby.
She was in normal attire, maybe even an upscale sweatsuit.
I walked right past her and began to inquire about the gorgeous boat.
A month later in Soundings Magazine was the write-up on Billy Joel's new boat Alexa Ray.
The blonde .... Christie Brinkley !!

We had a pretty nice group of people where I docked The Boat for years and years. New boat comes in and the guy is a flaming gay...but real nice, funny as hell and enjoyed kicking a few back along with the crowd.
Any-who---turns out his dad is well to do and up till now he did all his boating out on Long Island, but job had him relocate for a season. I have a Billy Joel CD playing and he tells me the night he was in a group of boats, people partying all night on the hook, before it got real dark a pretty nice boat comes over and asks if he could join them. They join in swapping stories drinking like fish...next morning he climbs out of his cuddy cabin still half asleep and this gorgeous girl from boat over is asking him if he wants coffee. Said how she was the most beautiful person he'd ever seen, also one of the warmest people and if he could have her, he'd go straight in a heartbeat. Some time after his friends told him that it was Billy Joel and Christi Brinkley that he was hanging out chatting with.

Not quite sure how much the story was embellished by him or me over the years...but I like it anyway.

Whatever the case...that girls neck seems just fine to me.
