radar on 25 bertram

Post by spencer »

Faithful,

I have a Bertram 25 hardtop, with a aluminum 2nd station with a radar arch on it with a canvas top.

Which location would be better for the radome on the hardtop or on the radar arch?
my system is two raymarine e80 networked with a 18 inch hd color digital radome

considerations, esthetics, ease of maintenance accuracy etc.

thanks
Spencer

Radar arch I think would be the given yea? High as possible is what I always hear.

As high as possible and certainly higher then the "family jewels" and the biological CPU... The electromagnetic radiation is NOT good for you!... I even have my VHF antennas above my head... Helps with radio range too ;-)))

I just bought a 25 restoration project with a high tower and I am wondering how you boat handles with the tower. What do you have for power? Any pictures? Todd
