Yanmar 6LP STE

Post by Ric »

Hello to all the faithful been awhile ,
Haven't played in the sandbox in awhile
Been over 15 years for me, since we all hooked up
I think it was actually 1999 , I recently saw Dougs facebook
pictures of his alchemy re/do nice job
I did the UVI 3 times. What a special place that was
Unique ,,,,,, and what Fishin
The flophouse is gone, sold ,the babushka is livin
large on her multimillion dollar sale
The 55 dollar rooms are now 170 per night 280 for my suite
Timmys outline on the floor where he wound up after
goin drink for drink with UV
in the eyetalian restarant next door to the flophouse , has been
sadly washed and erased from the floor with the time
But not forgotten ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Me and Mike O. Carried both of them up the stairs
UV did pretty good
and he was damn near blind ,timmy was blitzed
I think of UV often
His generosity
Huge personality,,,,,,,, happy new year ,,,,,,
As for the NE reunion I did block island
And the vineyard never been
south of block island with my boat
I think 2300 hours on the hour meters as of today

Ric,

Its been a while, hasn't it. Every time I ride by that place on the beach I think of that fun. I too miss UV a great deal, and am grateful for the fun, learning and friendships. Come on down to Greenport my friend. Thanks for the compliments.

It would be great to see you. Last time was the Vineyard!

Everything is cool, pulpit etc I had my starboard fuel injector pump freeze up over the winter I've been soaking it with PB blaster penetrant and trying to move it easy to break it free but I don't think it's gonna free up .. Seems to be from what I heard common occurrence
You lose RPM .. I was losing RPM
I thought it might be my throttle cables as I changed them out with no help to move the throttles and make the proper adjustments. I just counted the threads and put them on I thought that was you problem
3800$ New for the pump
Yanmar dealer in marathon had a rebuilt one for 2k but it was gone when I called they rebuild them and they sell fast
Another place in Oregon rebuilds the injector pumps 800 to 1k I heard of a guy in lauderdale named Gonzalez but I can't seem to find him on the Internet
Must be somebody in lauderdale that does the rebuilds seems they do all manufacturers pumps but I haven't found one in lauderdale yet...... I thought I'd bite the bullet for the 4 dimes and then rebuild the one I take off and keep for backup

Crazy.

It's got to cost 100K to build one of these engines from parts......

You and Doug got the four bangers
How have they held up? How many hours on the engines
What issues have you dealt with if any
Maybe we can get dr dre to fly up and you come over
Grab timmy and we'll go on the hunt
I've been fishing in florida this past winter on the charter boats out of Hillsboro inlet
They all fish with strips and feathers
I got some ballys coming here this month like maybe 7 packages
A dozen in each.... I'll cal dr dre and see wat his schedule is like in june

Ric,

I think I have 5-600 hours on mine, though I may be optimistic. Not enough regardless. Only real issue I have are the turbo's. They suck. they rot out from the inside out and don't last. Everything else is good so far.

Is what it is.

Anyway, glad you are well!

You Guys Need Dump truck motors....*snort* *chuckle* I think timmy still has a pair somewhere (Im kidding)

I dont think I've been fishing in a couple years, timmy lent me some tackle and that was the last time I saw him when I returned it.

I dont go offshore much anymore, my son loves the boat but he gets seasickeasily now so....bobbing around at idle or from a dead boat dont work out :(

Rick I always look for you when I go out...little eva sure dooes look lonely over there on the bit.

Sure would be great to see the old crew in one place again, give me a shout if u all are in town.

No turbo issues. No heat exchangers replaced yet. Nothing but one exhaust riser.

Thanks Ric, she's coming along...

Tommy, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Paul!!!! Great to hear from you! I hope the family is well! I can send you some bilge socks! Has your son triend the patch? Kerri found its limits on a helitour but it works like a charm for her on airplanes and boats. Also Sturgeron from Europe is very good too!

Getting the old gang together sounds like it would be fun for sure...

Well Professor, you have to give the beancounters credit where credit is due. Quite the annuity business!!!

Dug, I'm OLD, can I be in the gang too -- even if I do drive a lowly outboard powered center console?
