Re: Transmission Help Needed, Please
Pat, I have had the granny's off the motors and did a rebuild on the motors, so the flex plate and springs are good. My guess is a pressure issue. I did not know if some sort of valve might be stuck, since these have been sitting for many years. I'm hoping to avoid pulling everything back out

Transmission Help Needed, Please
Happy Holidays everyone, I thought that I was nearing the end of my diesel reposer project. Today's goal was to get the first motor running now that its actually in the boat. After a little priming and fiddling she started right up (cummins 4bt) but when I put the transmission in gear for the first ...

On the side of the 4bt's there is a fuel injector return line, that t's into one line returning to the injector pump and the other ends goes to a straight s...

Fuel Tank Advice Needed for Repower
Hey guys, I am making progress on my 28 repower with the Cummins 4BT's, next week I'm doing a dry fit of the motors so that I can make mock ups of the supports needed. I got one shaft cut to length with a fit and face of the flange. Wouldn't you know it, the 1.5" hubs on the brand new props are only...

Re: How to wire up three batteries?
You should have a heavy wire going from each starting battery going to each engine battery switch and a heavy positive to each starter. As for the house battery it should be independent to the house battery switch. How your engines are wired to the house battery for charging purposes can be done a c...

I was hoping to get at least one side done over the weekend, but Isaac had other plans, so today I started grinding and ran into an obstacle. My rudder supports come all the way forward and butt up again the shaft log hole. Should I cut the support back about 5-6" and then continue the scarf or what...

Hello faithful, I am in the process of following Capt Pat's building tips to do my fiberglass shaft logs on my 28 Bertram FBC. Hey Craig, I did away with the raw water strainers as Capt. Pat suggests. I only use the external strainers and that has worked for me. If you want my old ones I have them sitting my garage you can just get a service kit to replace the gaskets and so forth. I lives right around the corner.Â

Ok, the wife and I spent the last two days removing all of the wiring, old engine bunks, degreasing, etc, in preparation for the new Cummins 4BT's. Ok so I feel really stupid. On a Cummins 4BT or 6BT, where does the tachs get their signal from on the motor? The alternator?
If so I have a Motorola alternator and cant find a
part number or a wiring diagram for the alternator.
