Shaft Coupling rusty: repair or replace?
My shaft couplings are rusty. I was thinking about trying to remove the rust (in place), hit them with Ospho, Paint, then CorrosionX. Seems like a bit of work in such a tight space to work. I envision black and blue ribs. It might be easier just to replace them with new couplings that I can paint an...

Re: clutch levers sticking
Carl,
Good advice.
I'm hoping to have some work done in the next 6 months.
Cockpit deck, replace rotten bulkheads, etc.
At that time while everything is open, I'll get some new cables.

Re: clutch levers sticking
Carl and Bruce,
Thanks again. All back together. Adjusted the end pieces of each cable to set on the lever while it's in neutral. Shifters are smooth and I can find neutral to start the boat again.
Did both sides for good measure.
Glad I learned something in the process too.

Thank you guys for the advice. Carl, I followed your advice to the T. Found the two cables connected to the lever. Pulled them off. Re: Engine Cover Interference with tower!!!
Easiest thing is to have quick release pins where the hinges are.
No modifications or fiberglass work.
Pull the pins, slide the engine box back into cockpit to work on engine.
At least, that's what I would consider doing.

I agree with Mike's note. I'd love to see someone take an inlet in reverse! They'd be my new hero. I live nearby this inlet and just happened to be over there on the beach road as this unfolded. Boynton Inlet is terrible on most any day. Saturday was a beautiful day, flat calm, flat as a pancake. Anyone ever removed the turbo themselves?
Looks like four bolts hold the entire thing on.
Bunch of other stuff hanging on to it as well.
I'd like to remove it and bring it to the Turbo repair guy in WPB.
Any tips for removal would be appreciated.

The turbo is no longer spinning freely. It's stuck.
Even if I getting it moving, after I run the boat, it's stuck when I come back to the dock.

Tony We did very good compared to many others. Main house was dry, somewhat. No sea water. We did have two small leaks in the roof, but luckily no over mattresses or furniture. Only one boat in the harbour stayed afloat. It was a Bertram. See image at link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/PcWsc9iMTV2Bm9KE9

I have been calculating weight of additional fuel and other supplies.
I could see bringing 2000 pounds.
Plus myself and one other person.
How does everyone feel about running the Gulf Stream with that additional weight?
I think I have done close to this in the past.

I've thought the headliner would be a good spot for life jackets but have yet to make the effort to create an easy access door for them. We use the inflatable kind so they don't take up that much space.
And if you are offshore, they should probably be on your body.
