I saw a neat trick at Onset Bay Marine to eliminate drip stains. They cut a piece of heavy window vinyl about 1.5" by 18" long, then they tucked it under the rub rail where the drip lines are. The flap diverts the water away just enough to avoid drips, its clear so it doesnt catch your eye and its f...

Mitch, The boat sounds like the Kimberly Ann, I looked at her a few years back, it is a flybridge from a 25 Bertram, had been repowered with twin yanmar 315s, 1 3/8 shafts, beautiful gelcoat, had some tabbing and bulkhead issues, had been fished hard...

Miller Time

Last thursday I chartered the Miller Time out of Pt Judith RI. Capt Fred Miller runs a 1969 31 Bertram Bahia Mar that had been repowered this past winter with a pair of 225 Volvos. Cruised in the mid twenties, caught a load of fish blues and keeper bass.. the best part was the ride home...it blew fr...

John,

Check out the 31 Bahia Mar from East Quoge NY., I believe American Marine Built it as well. I spoke with them about one for my Bahia Mar and they quoted 5K and I needed to supply the template. I like Brewsters Hard Top for that kind of $.. BH

I had major trouble with a mercruiser big block, shellfish in the oil cooler and the remote oil filter leaked constantly, tightened it up and the vibration as well as heat caused the leak to return. BH

Media Blasting

CWJ, I blasted my entire boat inside and out with corn, very good results, the inside looks like the day they laid up the hull and the bottom right down to the gel coat. Less aggressive than sand which is a good thing, only trick is to keep the gun moving and never camp out in one spot too long. Env...
