outrigger poles
My Florida boat (non B-31) has a tower and holders for outriggers. Poles will be 15' or 18' without a spreader. I've considered telescoping poles (so as to save the last few feet on clearance) vs. fixed poles (to save on cost). Does anyone have experience with telescoping poles as to pain in butt or...

My over-sized are being installed in a week or two.
My originals are in NY and are yours for a contribution to the sight and the shipping costs to your location.
They have the square key in the middle of the shaft.

My Bahia (gas powered) came north on a triple axle trailer pulled by a dually pickup. Bimini was down and well tied. Everything in the cockpit was tied in place and the boat got through it OK. I would lose the shrink wrap .... tie EVERYTHING in place ... wash it when I put it together in FL and run ...

One good thing is that your seasonal timing is right to be purchasing.
No one sells their Florida home in November to go north.
Prices after "season" tend to be more buyer friendly.

Re: Two Bertram 31's displayed at the Boston Boat show
Unfortunately, I see the market as being almost all outboards. If you look at the magazines and what is being advertised, you see more and more 30, 35, 40 footers with outboards.....speed is the key. I think that some of the really sweet re-dos and new 35s might wind up overseas. Aside from that ......

I remember those docking lights..... I think made/sold by a company called "Barnegat Docking Lights".
I also remember how they ultimately leaked and became a pain in butt, with most being pulled and the holes glassed up.

Original 26 (after the discontinue of the 25) had I/Os.
26.2 had either straight inboards or (a very few) had outboards.
There is an outboard one near me in Sag Harbor.
I would love to get hold of one of the outboard ones.

2 - Listen to Marlin, nice guy, VERY knowledgeable ......one look at his boat would convince you ...... "off the charts " !!!

In a prior life, I had a 36 Hatteras with CAT 3208s @ 270 HP.
Good engine and not so tweeked that it wants to expode.
The 270 is a turbo engine, the 210 is the natural.
I think they pushed 'em up to 350 HP in some models

Incoming, The 28 is smaller than the 31 by approx. 2 feet. It is also having a deeper vee than the 31 by 1 or 2 degrees. If you look up under yachtworld for 28's for sale, there are currently more than 20 boats available, both in Europe as well as in the US. However, NONE of them has a tuna or marl...

Lowest point on our boats is fairly forward. My Bahia is a light boat, gas engines, no tower, glasstech and coosa deck.
