If you want to start a count, I will start it off. In the Forked River area there is mine, the Ellie M, then there is the Minihaha, then I know of one other berthed on a lagoon in Forked River not sure of the name. That is 3 and I know there are a bunch more between Toms River and Barnegat Light. To...

Kevin My experience it was the packing. If you have to pull it to do it then check everything. If you can do it without pulling the boat try the packing first, its the cheapest way out. Then if it leaks go from there. As you know it could be any one of the things we all mention. I don't think corros...

Harv You need to do what is right for you. I agree with Bruce on rebuilts. My father was a great mechanic, but as good as he was, he always felt rebuilding a marine engine was questionable. He always said, even fresh water cooled engines, you never know if at some point they had sea water in the oil...

Harv I asked my marina for a price on mercs at around 350 hp with transmissions he told me his price was around 14,000 a piece. I check on the rebuilt cummins and they said that would be around 20,000 a piece with transmissions. By the time you get done doing everything you have to do even with gas,...

Allen Since it does not look like any is answering since they are all picking on Timmy, I will try and get you started. The current issue of Power Boats has a report on paint remover. I am not sure how to scan and post otherwise I would try and put the article up for you to read. They rate a stripper called Soy Strip pretty high. www.franmar.com. Tony Meola

Ok one more time to my scale theory. If we follow Bruce's logic which actually makes the most sense, that can be proven using the scale since the amount of pull exerted at the greater depth from trying to lift all that water in the column would great a greater amount of pull on the scale. The weight...

Ok after reading all the theory's I have a question. I understand drag is drag and water weight is water weight. But if we lowered a rocker stopper down 5 feet and used a scale to somehow measure the pull at that depth, then tried it at 30 feet, it would stand to reason the scale should show two dif...

See if you the yard has anyone that will use baking soda instead of sand. They say that the baking soda can be controlled so the barrier coat doesn't come off. How long does the barrior coat last, well to give you an idea, we put 5 coats on in 1986 and it is still going strong. Tony Meola
