Re: New member planning B25 or B26 project. Inboard or IO?
My harbor on occasion depending on wind waves and weather can get as skinny as 2ft or even a bit less. I can trim up and get in and out with little difficulty. Also we do raft up near shore and the outdrives off the bottom allow me to breath easy. My trailer height is under 12’ with my Nextrail trip...

I took my old frame to the local glass company and they made me one out of plexiglass. That was 2004 it’s still just fine, they drilled the holes on the bottom and fit it in the frame. Clear not coke bottle green but looks and works great!

Re: Hi..and questions on 1963 B25 Express
First hand knowledge of a plan to stay around $20,000 was NOT even close to where I ended up and like Cam said, find a good runner pay a good surveyor, someone familiar with Bertram’s. The hull is so thick often moisture testing is not possible for those who have never surveyed a real boat! My trans...

Re: Stripped lower unit gear case lube vent screw
Tony it’s a flat screwdriver tip. I’m just not that strong. Aluminum case vs stainless steel screw. Piss poor design that continues to this day. The Merc mechanic that told me to replace the gear case was maybe 40 . He said in ALL his years he’d never seen one stripped. How do you argue with that ki...

Re: Stripped lower unit gear case lube vent screw
Rawaleigh, I think their made by a company called SDI I see their adds on the back of Soundings all the time. They are inexpensive by comparison which of course gives me a little pause, plus I did just have that leg rebuilt fall of 16 so it would be double painfull to pitch it over a stripped vent s...

Stripped lower unit gear case lube vent screw
So when I changed the gear case oil in my lower units last year I stripped the threads on the upper vent nut. Figured I would attend to it in the spring it held tight enough that the oil wasn’t running out so I called it a spring fix. Also sort of figured this to be a fairly common occourance with a...

Steve if you have regular HVAC guy you use he may be able to help. I don’t remember the numbers R12 R20 and the newer refrigerants but many of them are no longer available but many in the industry have captured and retained expired unavailable refrigerants. Just for shits and giggles I’d start there...

Again I have been up to my elbows in alligators and have been to the warehouse but not looked for the LVP. It was teak and holly and had some linear footage of scroll that matched. I promise I will look soon. I have a sinking feeling it was short of 20 ft though.
