I have two group 24 batteries for cranking and an 8d on a shelf in the bilge between the engines for the house bank. I run a combiner for the two starting batteries off one alternator and the house bank off the other. I went way oversize on the wiring for the house bank as it is in an engine space.

The newspaper today had witness accounts of the tug captain repeatedly calling on the radio then sounding his horn and finally illuminating the tow cable. All attempts to alert the pleasure boat captain failed and the boat was capsized after striking the cable.

I used a film from SunTek and it held up better than anything I got from auto part stores. I'd suggest going to a window tinter and getting a roll of what they use. The films I got from the auto supply places turned purple after a year.

I removed the fridge to install an air conditioner behind it. The fridge never made it back in the boat and I haven't missed it. There's always a cooler or two on board anyway so I don't see the fridge making its way back on board.
