How high are the poles? If there's a chance of the rubrail rising to the top of the piling you run the risk of holing the boat. Mikes method may help with that. Go to Marine Mate and check out their generators.They sell Kipor generators which are a knockoff of the Yamahas but alot cheaper. I've had mine for 5 years with no issues.
