Gee Dug I didn't realize you guys were so sensitive. Maybe we can all go down to mamby pamby land and get some self confidence for you, ya jackwagon! All in good fun Dug and a few Guinesses for good measure. Pats are indeed the team to beat and have been for some time. I have alot of respect for Bel...

I like pulling the boats for the winter, less to worry about. The days you have to check it are usually the days you want to stay inside. Lots of guys end up in the water checking their boats so remember to leave yourself handholds and a way to get yourself out of the water if you fall in. In additio...

I have the schematics for a 28. I'm sure there's not much difference in a 31. Email me at ejcurry@verizon.net and I'll send you the file.

I did a dock and deck with Ipe about 8years ago and my biggest regret is not going with the biscuit fasteners. When finished properly it's almost a shame to put furniture on it let alone a bunch of holes. I used 1x4 and cupping has not been an issue although checking will occur at the end of the boa...

No offense meant Randall, owning a bubble boat doesn't necessarily make you a bubble boater. I know a few of those Searay people in that video. Very nice people but not exactly old salts. There is a bit of snobbery that goes on with that particular crowd of boaters so it's amusing watching them make...

Searay has been doing this aquapaloosa raft up for a while, the problem is when the Searay owners try to do this without adult supervision. The area of the incident was the backside of Fire Island Inlet and although it is somewhat protected it is subjected to quite a bit of boat traffic as well as a...

We ran to the elbow at Hudson canyon instead of the dip. Lots of life like Dan said. Took a bunch of 60lb yellow fin on the chunk around 1:30am, contrary to what we were told. Hit a few on the troll in the morning but not the early morning blitz we were expecting. Glad we were out there for the chun...

I agree with Sim about cleaning the tank. Taking the screen out will just move your clogging problem to a different filtration point as well as allowing larger debris to enter the fuel line which may cause a blockage that's harder to clear. Removing the crud from the tank eliminates all of your prob...

Moriches Bay wasn't bad at all. The channel was clearly marked and at half tide and rising I had 4ft of water at the shallowest point. I was in less water coming in Fire Island inlet, which should get a thread of its own. The information I got from Tow Boat Moriches was right on the money. The Tow B...

Weather is going to be the determining factor as to which route I take but Joe is right I'm planning on the inside route. So far my information says to stay away from buoy 27, hit 26 and head directly to 28. The howdy boat crowd also say to remain on plane and blow past any slower boats that get in your way, so we will that kind of hazard to be aware of as well. Lucky for us there shouldn't be alot of them out there to...

Hey Dick, are you out there? Call me 631-258-6804. If this wind keeps up FI inlet will be just as much fun as Moriches Bay. Hey Charlie this is more of a South West wind and the bay was rolling tonight. It should blow you all the way Shinnicock. If I can get any good intell I'm going to run inside s...

Moriches Bay
Anyone have information on the best course through Moriches Bay? I'll be heading out Thursday and plan to get the rising tide around 11:00am, but that area scares me. I haven't been there in a while but I remember boats getting stuck in the channel at low tide.
See ya in Greenport.

If you go with gas the sad fact is you will have little resale value. There are a lot of the 28s out there and they can be for 10-15k. I rebuilt my 350 mercs to the original 260hp three years ago and I'm satisfied with the results, 22k cruise with 1kn fuel burn. If I had deeper pockets I would have ...

Your type of article is more suited to YF and THT tha...

The key for my removal was to twist and not just pull it out. I was trying for two days to pull from one corner of the tank hoping to peel it off the bottom. when I put a 6' steel bar between the tank and the rudder shelf I felt the tank go sideways with a loud pop and the damn thing was out. Don't ...
