I know those folks. They dock in the marina behind my house. I tie up with them on occasion.Excellent selection of wine and snacks. Bring larger than normal fenders when rafting with them. And a knife.

Nothing sucks more than having to shovel snow from your cockpit after shoveling your driveway. That cockpit cover is perfect for a Long Island winter not to mention keeping the sun off that teak deck. I think us New york boys need to have a mini rendezvous on petes boat. or a local watering hole.

Moriches Bay

Anyone have information on the best course through Moriches Bay? I'll be heading out Thursday and plan to get the rising tide around 11:00am, but that area scares me. I haven't been there in a while but I remember boats getting stuck in the channel at low tide.

Check the engine beds where they mate with the bulkheads, that's a common rot spot. The later models had a nicer interior layout with a more modern outdated decor, if you're into that.
I think the 28 is the best value out there.

The wettest boat I've been on is a 28 Albin. The boat is a submarine and impossible to drive without windshield wipers. A seaworthy ride but if you're not in the pilot house you will be drenched to the bone as your pockets fill with seawater. Compared to that my 28 is fairly dry.
