Re: Any prop Gurus?
Jimmy I know the top end numbers from the owner ( was passed in the old boat quite easily) and have driven the boat on one occasion. I am nearly positive that he is running a 21x25 dqx wheel with medium cup. The efficiency of this boat is ridiculous. For the extra horsepower you have (610vs760(you d...

Pitch for pitch you overlap exactly with the old Chimera difference being we ran out of rpm at 2850 With the smaller wheels your a knot slower than the qsb305 up here. He is running 21" wheels on 1.75" shafts Thought that boat was something like 21 24 or 25. Michigan dqx have worked the best even ov...

You running dqx wheels? They add lift fwd and will dig in reverse. Chimera would put water thru the hausers but not over the transom. Were you full fuel and real light in the nose? It made a difference in the old boat.

Prep, patience, and a little knowledge is all it takes. Forget the roller and brush the whole thing. You need two people who understand the " feel " of the paint and add reducer as needed. So I'm going to assume the set screws were removed and they have just seized themselves to the strut. No biggies to drop the struts, keeping in mind that there are shims and you shouldn't move them. If the struts are in place with 5200 its even easier. Remove the bolts and support the end of the pro...

John Lane has done some nice 31 installs, like what he's done with the port risers to reduce the bend. 5kts with one 6.8 with two is my guess at just around 38 top end. The hds9 should accept a small 4g radar. Since lowrance is a Navico company I would expect it to be as good as the Simrad 4g which is a fantastic radar in tight and out far. With a B31 we are not high enough off the water to see much more than 20 miles anyway so anything over 6kW is wasted. The high...
