[I'm looking for the Stewart Warner part numbers for the Water Temp, Oil Pressure and Fuel gauges, I replaced my Tachometer's and Voltmeter's a few years ago.] I just cleaned them up - a little simple green a...

used 3M CF look vinyl - supposed to hold up well (it's covered 95% of the time anyway)
moved the horn and rewired - it was faded and dingy when I got the boat.

I'm all for keeping it simple. I ended up making a bracket out of a morse throttle cable holder from Summit Racing. It's stainless steel and aluminum - so should hold up better than the original. I was also fortunate that I was able to save a majority of the transmission attachment http://www.thehul...

under $90 at Amazon - and yes - apparently the GPS function on the WiFi models triangulate on the wifi network(s) no matter if connected directly or not. This works fine if you stay coastal in a populated area. I originally hooked this up right after Christmas (got the iPad Ram Mount) and took the b...

Just an update on this. With the Wifi version of the Ipad2 - to perform gps functions outside of the wifi network - you really need one of the Apple approved GPS external receivers. I chose the Dual one because of the Bluetooth access and because it has a nifty rubber holder. When you sync the GPS r...

gloss paint will reflect heat, repel dirt, and be easier to clean then a flatter finish. I would really think it over if that gloss bothers you or not. Amen - on another boat I used the flattening agent on nonskid - just the nonskid. It was harder to clean up and it stained. I ended up doing it ove...

1986 B-28 - 260hp Mercruisers Starboard Engine Tach issues
Sometimes when I am starting the starboard engine the tach will register 3500 rpm's - on July 4th It settled at 1000 rpms' idle - then when I powered up - tach swung to 5000 rpm's (obviously not there based on speed/throttle placement) After I stopped the engines to watch fireworks - it worked norma...
