All, Not sure how you get 100 gallons of AVGAS to your Bert but I can tell you for sure, that all of my small equipment runs on 100LL Avgas. It works great, lasts forever, and contains no ethanol whatever. I use it in the weed whacker, large and small chainsaws, log splitter, lawnmower, and snow blo...

Can anyone expand on the life expectancy of a new aluminum tank? I'm buying a B28 that has a brand new (2007) aluminum tank that was Imroned on the outside. Just curious what the service life should be? It was installed on a custom cradle that support s the tank so that it will not stay wet. It rest...

no1fishead,

Tell us about the boat?. I chartered a 31 Bertram out of OC a few times!
It was my first ride in a 31. I thought we were moving right along... as we cleared the inlet the Capt gave it the juice. I was blown away!... FAST.

The boat was called Wet Whiskers.

Boat Shipping Recommendation MA to MD?

Gents,

Can anyone recommend a good company capable of hauling a 28 Bert from MA to Mid MD on the Eastern Shore?

I finally found a boat but need to get it from there to here!

Thanks,

What are the options for this material? I know one could R&R it but short of that is there some reasonably straight forward option to take care of this?

Thanks,

I'll second the bleach / water mix. Works for me even on old stained white bumpers.

Congrats Cap! As others have said, it just gets better and better. You won't believe that but it does!

My twins are going to turn 6 in June and they bug me to fish and boat. I can't wait to oblige them this summer!!

Still Bertramless but working on it!

Doug,

This boat is an '83. Nice boat otherwise from what I've heard. Owners are moving up to a bigger Bert.

Walter,

Thanks and yes, they are original.

Mechanic seems like a straight shooter but I know you are right.

I could do the compression check myself.....

Thanks,

Yet another Noob B28 question- sanity check on motors

All, Thanks again for the input over in the ethanol section! Next boat and another set of questions: This one is a '87 B28 with typical Mercruiser 350 / 260's that are original. Hours around 900. Boat is immaculate with all records down to oil change hours , raw water pumps, etc. I had $$ down on th...

Dick, Thanks for th reply! My thoughts were buy it and run off the aluminum tanks for now and replace the tank myself as a project. I just want to ensure that the motors aren't toast already due to unseen build up. These guys were fishing this boat offshore until two weeks ago so I'm confident it ru...

Another Noob looking at a B28 with questions...

All, Really have enjoyed the site and GREAT information I have found here! I have a "what do you think" question for the collective.... I having a time finding a good B28 on my limited budget (say around 30K) I just found a mid 80's boat (wife likes the interior better) with 2007 repower. 200 hours ...
