Re: Simrad replacement
I use Navionics on my iPhone when I am on someone else's boat such as a head boat. I mark where we stop to fish and transfer the coordinates to my Simrad NSS8 when I get to my boat. I really like the Simrad better than my last (smaller) Garmin. https://www.facebook.com/enduranceb25/photos/a.82806320...

Re: Shaft Coupling Bolts
Finally got it back together yesterday. Seems to be ok. Ran in the slip only. How long does the red lock tite take to set up?
I figure I’ll take it out tomorrow for a run.
Thanks for the offer Tony.

Got it back from the machine shop early. $80.
Lining up the splines is no fun. Taking a break. It's quite heavy.

Carl, only the trans coupling is threaded. The shaft coupling is not. There is only enough room for about 1/4 inch on the rear of the shaft coupling.

Re: Shaft Coupling Bolts
Well, here I go again. Same side, same problem. The shaft coupling bolts sheared off again. This time I was only going about 6 knots around 1200 rpm. Could only get two of the bolts out. the other two broke flush at the trans coupler. As before, no room to work. Had to cut the deck a bit to raise th...

Re: Fuel/water separation filter
The PO of my boat said the distributors were getting damp and causing the engines to shut down. Actually, the coils were the culprit, they would get hot as the engine ran and the start to break down. I finally replaced them, and the problem went away. I have since had to replace the port coil twice....

Went through 2 props and a couple of routine hose changes.

Cam, I posted pics on Facebook. The original tabs are cut on an angle and are 17 1/2" at the rear of the tab. They are 8" deep. The new ones I bought are I think 12x12, but they are currently buried somewhere in the garage. When (If) I can find them I will measure. You have about 14" where they are ...

Yannis, I don't think they need much service. Keep the hydraulic fluid at the correct level. ( will stay there unless you have a leak) Check the hoses periodically. Don't paint the actuators. Periodically check the electrical connections. In other words, keep an eye on them as you would the rest of ...
