Russ,
Curious about the non skid. I want to do AWLGRIP non skid and have a pattern. Some say a roller with a pattern in the roller itself and others with a spray gun.
Any thoughts?

I was hoping to use the existing engine bay. Mount the engine centerline facing forward and run a jackshaft to make up the distance the engine would be from the outdrive. That way the engine would be forward a little more than a v Drive due to the transmission length with the current engine mounted ...

I guess my real concern is the length of the jackshaft, My thoughts were to span the distance from the engine to an I/O by using the existing distance where the twins sat. Roughly 3+ feet or so. I have no clue as to what an unacceptable distance is for jackshafts. Also is the bottom portion of a V D...

Jackshaft option
I wanted to pick the brain trust about a power option for my 25 V Drive boat. Instead of repowering with twins I thought about a power system similar to an Albemarle. Putting a 496 in the current engine bay with a jackshaft connected to a Volvo duoprop outdrive. Any thoughts?

Ran a pair of 6 71Ns for 20 years in a 43 Egg. They ran perfect. Noisey, and she was no speed wagon. Couldn't bruise or dent, let alone kill em. Just run em like your'e mad at them and they do fine. Got commercial guys around here with 15K hours on them with 506 Twin Disc clutches fishing pots all d...

I carried one for 30 years. I now just retired. I didn't carry off duty then and I won't do it now. It is real easy to say yeah I will pull down and take a life. I was fortunate, I didn't have to pull mine on many occassions. But when I did it looked like a cannon in front of me. The tunnel vision y...

Bertram 25 Restorer
I am in Fla right now and was wondering if anyone knows the name of a gentleman who restores 25 Bertrams? I found a newspaper publication while surfing 25 Bertram images on line. But can't find it again. He is located in or near Palm Beach. He does very meticulous work and while I was here wanted to...

My goal is to be somewhat weight conscious with the engines. I am not sure that is of concern based on some of the set ups I have seen. One 25 I know of has a tower and extra fuel. And is a proven go get em boat and her owner raves of her performance. But I really like the look at the Riva/Bertram 2...

Absolutely. We love Taylors in Deltaville. We love the Northern Neck and try to cruise there at least once a season. We usually start at Coles Point, then Reedville,Horn Harbor,Tiffany's and Deltaville. We keep a boat at Wicomico Yacht Club. The Wicomico on the eastern shore. If you get over here on ...

I bought the boat about 2 years ago. It was on Shelter Island NY. The guy I bought it from had a 31 and inherited this one from family in Mass. The boat is named CAVU. 1968 model that spent winters indoors. The hull is great like a time capsule. Very minor crazing on the flybridge. I am AWLGRIPPing ...
