Re: fuel tank
so...took floor out today. Finally got boat back from the new engine installs. They look great but I still have to address the issue of the new risers being to tall. probably going to need to lift the engine cover section about 2 inches... However up to this point I was under the assumption the tank...

Re: outboards on a bracket getting swamped
Last week, some guys were doing some spear fishing off of the Moxie Drilling Platform in the Gulf. The five of them let the boat drift while they all went in. Apparently, they were so well organized that they were out there and in the water before anyone noticed that they had forgotten to put the d...

This is not SS its aluminum. They make SS for potable water. I wouldn't even think of a good reason to use SS unless your fuel tank was stored under water maybe???? I know SS when welded is prone to tension or flex cracking later on down the road.

I spoke to him. He is blind and does not have pics. I told him to talk to John Cranston! Boat is stripped, has new deck, new stringers, and new Center console, he claims it is buffed and sanded. But no pics it is a long trip for me to take a chance. if you want pics I can go take some this weekend....

ok so drove out to the shop and took a look at it. It does screw just screw in. Next question. I assume aluminium is the best replacement? I...

Re: Aluminum cockpit trim polishing
if you want to try it yourself, it just like wet sanding a car. I do recommend practicing on a scrap piece of aluminium or SS first just to figure it out a bit. If you mess up no big deal just start over. I go a bit excessive but it works. start with 1000 grit wet sanding, then 2000 and then when th...

it would have to be about 3 to 4 inches. The issues comes from going from old rear log style exhaust to new center riser. I didn't do the math on this. I was so worried about carb and intake height I didn't even measure this. The covers are already "notched" to clear a 1in spark arrestor, so I had a...

I hope so. sorry for the time between responses, but mcafee kept shutting me out of the site. Did run into a one last problem. The new exhaust doesn't clear the engine bay doors. Guess I'm off the fiber glass man to get the front floor lifted 3 inches. Unless someone has any other ideas?

no, those are just there for tuning so we can place 02 sensors to get fuel trims perfect. Its leaking at the head where the manifolds bolt up. We changed the gasket but it still does it, so it must have a crack in it.

I have a friend who has purchased from " boat angel ministry" on ebay before with great success. He bought a 34 foot glacier bay cat with running engines for $3200 from them. I have no idea about the seller of this boat, however it looks to be the same type of charity system.

yes, they are marine 100 forged internals, with custom ground cams from Howard's. Built by white brothers in Tennessee. They do great work. I originally wanted 100 forged 350 and they told me it was basically a waste of money not make them 383 if going 100 forged on the internals. Both are also gear...
