Battery placement
Interested in hearing about optimal battery placement from the guys. Under center hatch behind center of gravity/weight midpoint or outboard of engines behind weight midpoint or even further back and where? Plus/minus of each location. Mine is a Bahia Mar.

I have a friend with a mid 60s thunderbird boat that was in his garage and the gelcoat looked amazing. I asked him when he repainted her and said it was original. He gave me 3 M compound and said to follow it up with Starbrite marine polish with PTEF ( 2 coats). Have a 2005 Jones brothers that was a...

Bob I've seen numerous posts from you and you've spoken about weight distribution. Is there anything I can read or we can read about Weight distribution on Bert...

Re: 315 Yanmar fuel burn
I've got a 71 Bahia Mar with twin 315s. Did a bunch of work on her and probably added 1500 lbs. running 1.5 to 1 gears and she cruises at 3100-3150 / 26-27 kts, wide open 3850 / 33.5 knots. Fuel burn at cruise is 12-13 gph total. Even I can't believe it. If I keep her at 2800 where the previous owne...

Obviously if money is no option go diesel. It's nice not to have to fill that tank every time you go out. With the 315 Yanmars we get 1.7 to 1.8 miles per gallon. Ran Priceless at 24-28 knots all last weekend. 7 hours cruising, 78 gallons fuel, almost as economical as the 23 Steiger with single two ...
