Goober here ; u have some good questions , i have a 78 31 fbc with 170 yan mars with no genset and no extra weight in cabin. We can fish four guys in cockpit and cruise 20/22 knots on the other hand a one cooler trip with the wife will get about 22/24 knots .All of this depends on a very clean botto...

I have 4lh dte 170 hp in my b31 ,maybe a little small but very economical , documented hours are 7900 plus on both engines. Keep in mind oil filters and racors are replaced every 200 hrs. Trans. oil usually last longer .previous owner furnished records but oil samples are best way to go . My advice ...

I hope this helps i agree with Bruce my 31 fbc has yanmars with block heaters 120 volt very inexpensive to buy or to install invection heat will circulate water thru entire system when cranking in cool or cold weather no preheat is required quote BR Goober

Don't waste ur time and cash with plywood . coosaw board is by far the best way to go ? I have built decks , repaired stringers , ribs u name it with the stuff . no. 26 will cure ur problem if properly used . built a hardtop with 1/2 in. And it's bad to the bone . don't waste the effort on wood.

John Ur eye caught the side windows and I thank u I'm thinking of replacing mine on my31fbc The angle of the window seems to be the same as the pillister which makes for a much nicer line of site any thoughts on this or are these custom windows by a local shop

Got blockheaters on my yanmars they are mounted on engine bed between mounts with a 1/2 in bypass hose I think from oil cooler back to cooling system keeps complete engine and engine compartment at app 110 to 120 dgs in just about any weather turn key on and gauge says 110 with absolutley no drag on...
