thanks for the explanation Carl. I have been reading manuals and looking at drawings of the Yanamar parts. It appears that the riser is a 2nd piece, some call it a bend that is added first. If you only left the crab traps in for 2 days that's pretty good haul.

We blue-crab and stone-crab down here and usually leave the traps in for 1 week.
