I just launched my repowered Baron. I took out the 12 year old 2,000 hour 5.7 Volvo Gsxi with the composite XDP drive and replaces it with a new 6.2 CE 380 hp running a DPS drive 2.14 ratio and FH9 props.I am going through the break in process now , so no full throttle runs yet but my initial sense ...

I really thought about it, but wanted the weight distribution and configuration of the original and didn't want to do a conversion. When I bought it, there was an OB on a pod. Which was not well designed. Who knows, if this doesn't work, I may still have to do that!

Re: Hunt 14 project has started
Thanks Ian. Could the taller front than back be a bit of an issue if your fill is at the rear? I assume your vent is in the front? I think mine will fill from the front, and the tank will be deeper forward than aft. We are putting things back together on my 14, I will have some pictures fairly soon....

There are a few 20's around here. One way to check for wet foam is to weigh the boat on a truck scale and compare it with the factory number. Boats with wet foam are very heavy. I don't have the factory weight in front of me, ut can get it next week when I'm back at the cottage, I an may have a good idea off the top of his head.

You do not want to try to remove those tanks unless you absolutely have to, they are tucked forward and outboard wrapped around the center depression in front of the v drives.

Mine had 7 feedback comments. I have also used Uship and had a good experience, so it is the shipper, not the site. I would make sure any deposit is small, that you do not pay until the goods arrive, and I would consider insuring the cargo.

Be very careful with Uship. they are a booking service and do nothing to vet their haulers. I bought a boat, booked freight through Uship, the hauler picked it up and has never delivered it and Uship says it is not their problem.
