I'm surprised how high it is on the hull. Don't the fumes rise up into the cockpit when warming up at the dock or slow trolling? I would think it would piss off the guys on either side of you at the marina.

Tom- I would be interested in the responses, but remember, the Cummins B series were born of their success as a Dodge truck engine. Also, although the high hp/weight ratios on some of these engines sounds good (and they are), a heavier weight seems to have a positive influence on how our B-31's ride.

Tony-are they idled low enough? I know they recommend 800, but I've bought mine down to 650 (warm). You can also lower pitch and add cup to slow you on the low end but get it back at cruise. Walter

Looks like a redone Sportsfisherman as I don't see (or missed) the head on the starboard stern side. Don't see where they put it, but can't believe after all that work, that there isn't a stand-up head.

Tropic Star has it's Tuna Tubes as part of their live wells that are in their cockpits. I would not suggest cutting holes in the transom or anywhere else because the day will come when some sort of servicing will be needed and complete 360 degree access will be very desirable. My opinion.

That looks like a Dyer top to me. I know Dyer Craft that I have been exposed to are single engined keel designed boats, but in those days all these boat builders were friends as well as competitors and helped each other out. Especially on matters of wood pre fiberglass.

They force safety in the manufacturing of new cars, seems less on new boats. So many of these monsters seem so top heavy, I'd be afraid to be on one in a heavy sea. Couple that with questionable construction quality makes it even scarier.
