You do not want to go up high in the air. What they said is true. You can be thrown out in any seas over3 foot when stopped. If you fish only in the calm and really need to see to fish maybe but if you will be offshore in the N.E. lower is better. Good Luck

Eddy G, You can put the flow scans in yourself but it takes some time. It took me about 40 hours to do it right but well worth all the time and effort.

You should also think about flow scans with the tach. I have them and they are very good and help track fuel use offshore also

I use the flapper type, my exaust is outside the stringer. It is about half submurged when loaded for an overnight to the trench. At rest full of fuel it is just in the water maybe a quater inch, empty it is out of the water.

make sure the plastic pieces of the dripless did not melt or deform because of the heat when it was clogged. I saw one that melted really bad so I set mine up so if one clogs the other side will feed it. This setup does little when both are clogged.
