Here's what I DO know. Back in 1965 I changed jobs and one of the accounts my new agency had was The American Gas Association. Since I was not knowledgeable about that area, I was given a lot of materials to read and "get smart" on. In that material was documentation that after Adolph Hitler lost his petroleum sources in the Balkans, the Germans figured out how to convert coal to oil and natural gas. They did it, it worked, and the formula was in our hands at the war's end. They used it for their Panzer divisions which were all diesel powered. We hear about fuel from corn, used cooking oil, turkey guts and who-knows-what. I haven't heard a word about coal to oil conversion.
The credibility gap about the intelligence of our legislators on both sides of the aisle, and their committment to the average American grows every day. Where I live, everyone needs a car even to get a quart of milk, never mind going to work or school. Today it's $3.25 for a gallon of regular.
A lotta people getting poorer rather quickly.
