If EAA is a lobbying organization fighting for private aviation on the basis of safety, why doesn't Boat U.S. do the same for us? The issue really is public safety. No one cares or feels sorry for us as far as our wallets go, but go out there and kill someone and see what happens! We had a 2 engined private plane crash and burn on a local street here and by some miracle only killed the pilot. Missed houses by feet. He was flying this newly purchased used plane from the Carolinas to his home in N.J. So far the FAA investigators are trying to figure out why the planes engines sputtered and died. Old plane, sitting at an airport for months, first trip, Ethanol? Maybe not, but given our experiences it's taken us 2 years to figure out why we've been stalling, bending pushrods and breaking down. I'd hate to have had it happen coming in in a storm or bad inlet. Walter
