Okay I'm going to throw another monkey wrench into this. A friend of mine is an engineer and very familiar with stainless in a different field. He says that stainless will corrode if it does not receive oxygen. His example was a stainless bolt that is taken apart after a while would show rust where the nut was and under the head whereas the exposed portion of the bolt would not corrode. Capt Patrick advises coating the new stainless tank. Do we need to research this point too????
