Trim Tabs installation in B28

I just got 36"X9" Bennett Trim Tabs to be installed in my B28. As you well know the transom is curved and those tabs are pretty large. I understand that I have to create a flat mounting surface. Any suggestion of how to do this job? It is the first time that I am installing Trim Tabs. Thanks.
