Since now it seems will be going back in the water this year, I can't take the wait and see approach.
Actually I think I may be the first to come across this problem which started 3 years ago. I did the clean the tank thing and filtered for Tar and Varnish. Still had a problem.
So going back in with same tank would be foolish, to me anyway, especially if a rupture is possible, got kids on board these days, me if I get blown up, well the rest would be nice, maybe eternal rest.
If I had the bread I would opt for new fiberglass, but that is not going to happen, besides by the time they were made and delivered my season would be over. As for making myself, not a good project to practice on.
SS I have been told to stay away from.
Alum, quick fairly inexpensive and easy to work with. If extra ethanol becomes a problem it will be a problem for a whole lot of others as well, enough to call attention of some politicians. If not I should have had a few extra seasons to play around.
Think choice is made for me, Aluminum.
