Ok guys,

I just got off the phone with Barry from Fiberglass Hawaii in Santa Cruz Califrnia. The info was in the letter I received from Chuck Fort. The resin we discussed is Dion 6631 a vinylester resin. He said he would email me a data sheet possibly as soon as tomorrow. Anyway, we had discussed the same topic of retrofitting the existing tanks with this resin. Barry mentioned as did Bruce on an earlier post that the key would be to sand and clean thouroughly and to get as close to 100% adhesion otherwise delamination could accure. One difference that Barry discussed with me was to "rebuild" a tank within our tanks, basically using fresh new matting along with the resins.

I also spoke to Richard Kidd yesterday as it had been mentioned that he was also working towards a solution as well. Richard told me he was awaiting a meeting with his "resin" people. Supposedly, that resin was only good for E10 and not for whatever else happens to come down the fuel pipelines. So he was going to rethink this at his meeting. I also emailed Richard the information about the Dion 6631 resins as well. Richard and I also discussed a plastic solution as he told me that Kracor already has a plastic tank in it's catalog that could be used on/in the B25's. The only drawback with Kracor is the largest tank in their catalog is only 100 gallons and anything custom/larger would require new tooling and dyes. That cost alone would be around $8000, including getting the tanks certified. Kracor already makes larger tanks for many boat manufacturers but can't sell those tanks due to the fact that the manufacturers had already paid for that specific tooling and was sort of "protected". Richard said he would call me back with infromation and I'll pass that along as soon as he does.

We are definitely a resourceful group. Some phone calls, some due diligence, some research, and some common sense and I'm sure we will come up with a solution.
