Just finished reading the article and all it does is reaffirm my belief that the ethanol industry has not done proper R & D as far as their product is concerned. I keep seeing on any and every pro-ethanol website how it should be a simple and painless conversion. Even this article stated, nothing going into the tanks should pose a problem. Now if you read between the lines, they are absolutely correct. There is no problem with the product in the tanks. The problem is how the product is reacting to surrounding conditions, such as tank, hose, and fitting materials, or the byporducts in our engines due to the chemical reactions of the product to it's containment devices.

The article also mentions the eventual use of E85, which in and of itself has certain new requirements for safe handling and transfer, such as hoses, pipes, storage and nozels. And just when you thought that converting to diesel is the way, along will come E95 for diesel use, or soy diesel or some other biodiesel.
