I read these ethanol debates as an outsider, since I am fortunate enough to have diesels in my two 31s.
As a pilot for over 45 years and maintaining 5 different airplanes, I have had to deal with many maintenance problems, one of which was to replace leaking (neoprene ?) fuel bladders which are sealed inside of each aluminum fuel tank. Could a flexible and similar liner be made and placed into these fiberglass fuel tanks on our beloved boats? On the Bonanza, they were stuffed through a small hole not much larger than the gas filler cap, on the top of the wing, so I believe that technically, it would be possible. Now I know that there are baffles that keep the fuel from sloshing around, but I would suspect that once the interior structure of the tanks was determined, a close-enough fit could be manfactured. The now deteriorating glass tank would supply the support, and the new material, whatever it is ( ethanol impervious) would contain the fuel.
Just another thought!
