The science seems sound; but I want to look a few things up tomorrow. I do have a problem with the following section.
"With both the straight gasoline and the gasoline having 10% ethanol, analysis by GCMS shows that the fuel’s lightest fractions were absorbed into both fiberglass and filler. Noting the very high flammability and volatility of these light organic compounds, your profession needs to be alert to possible outgassing and fire/explosion hazards."
My 1973 28B had a fiberglass tank that was in fine shape when I sold the boat in 2002. That tank had seen 29 years of gasoline with the "fuel's light fractions" being absorbed. What they go on to say is that tank should have blown up long ago!
Now if you are mistaken in one area could you be wrong in more?
As for buy av-gas from a small airport; that should be no problem. The guys with the drag race cars always can by for some of the 140 octan av-gas. I think that stuff was died blue. I know regular was red, I think 110 was green and 140 was blue. Its been a long time and I used red.
