Men, again I urge reason and thoughtful calm in the face of apparent panic. The sky is not falling, at least not just yet. I would not 'scrub' the tank with a professional right now, since the problem is either varnish coming loose or the tank innards dissolving, and I don't see enough hard evidence either way to make a move if it were me haveing to make the decision. All tank scrubbing does is filter. The stuff that will cut the hell out of the built up varnish is Gumout, say a 25% concentration in gas, sloshed around, then blown around with an air wand inside the tank. An air wand is just some 3/8 copper tubing hooked to about 100# of air pressure thru a blow gun to regulate it, and blast the crap off the bottom of the tank after the Gumout has softened it for a day or two. Like Bruce says, the pregnancy test ain't in yet. Ya'll cool your jets, and let's get the varnish out of the tanks, and it ain't gonna be easy cause the stuff is hard as a rock. The gin is taking the easy soft part off and depositing it on your valve stems and carbs, but the rock hard stuff will have to come out or the ooze will go on forever.
