Acetone does scavenge water, but it is so "light" I think it would flash off in a carb before actually burning in the fuel mixture. Wouldn't last long in a tank, either but could last longer enough to work on the 'glass. Toluene is the main ingrediant in most carb cleaners of the spray type. It will bump the engine rpm's up like hell while it burns through, cleans sludge and build up very well. Don't know that I'd want to use it as a tank ingrediant. Wouldn't ue either in a diesel, myself.
