I'm pretty sure that all of the ethanol production will be added to gas. The amount of gas we use versus the amount of alcohol that will be produced will probably dictate that. Adding biodiesel actually helps the engines, especially with the introduction of ultra loe sulfur fuel. A side effect of the process of removing the sulfur is a reduction in lubricity, and a resultant increase in wear and tear to the fuel system. As little as 2-5% biodiesel (B2 - B5) replaces that lubricity. I regularly run B20 in my 06 Ford F250 and sometimes run B100 (straight biodiesel). The truck runs great on both, but the B100 is extremely smooth and quiet. It almost doesn't sound like a diesel. Part of this is that the cetane rating of biodiesel is a minimum of 48, and, depending on the feed stock, as high as 80!! The only downside to blends over B20 is the fact that it will gel at a much lower point than petrodiesel. B100 will also deteriorate older rubber, nitrile and Buna N seals. Most engines manufactures after the early 1990's are not affected. B20 can be run in most older applications. Rawleigh
