Ethanol proposed for diesel?

I was in another room while CNN was on this morning and came back in at the end of an interview about our energy sources/solutions. I'm pretty sure the woman was talking about a proposal to introduce ethanol to diesel fuel "to clean it up so as to meet the new pollution standards and better utilize the volume of ethanol expected to be produced in the many plants being built around the country right now". Did anyone else hear it? Does anyone think or know if an Ethanol diesel oil mix would work? God, I'm meeting today with someone about a possible diesel conversion on my B-20, and my Cummins powered 31 has a beautiful teak deck I'd have to destroy to get at the tank. This is going to drive me nuts if it's true. Someone tell me it's not possible! Walter
