The final additives for the gas are added at point of distribution depending on who is purchasing the gas. Off brands may not add the same additives as Exxon but they all come from the same distribution point. The ethanol contaminates easily so they have a problem pre mixing it and shipping it through pipe lines. I believe that is why there is such a push to build ethanol plants all over the country.
